The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 电影整体拍的确实很舒服，镜头语言很成熟，虽然剧本还值得打磨，但作为刚刚起步的他，确实未来可期。电影前半部分很有趣，后面也很抓人，中间有些枯燥的过场，确实都是靠着导演本人的个人魅力，也确实令人期待他的未来。
每次都只差一步，也多亏这差一步，处处透着温情。

非常非常对我的胃口的片子，是那种让你越看越觉得有意思有惊喜的类型，就像一杯清晨的咖啡，越喝越丝滑越提神。青春迷茫、小镇生活，贴合的配乐和氛围塑造，人物之间在踏踏实实的交流聊天，不慌不忙不走过场，剧本太扎实。导演兼主演的男主实在是太有才了，那双眼睛诚恳、真的会说话。达妹离开五十度系列之后的戏路真的选的很好，上一部的猎鹰电影也是我的心头好。
一个大学生和有夫之妇发乎情、止乎礼的未满爱情故事；口味清新寡淡，多条隐线并行的叙事也挺符合生活中的琐碎原质，就像为圣丹斯电影节专场定制。Cooper Raiff是一个有潜力的青年电影人，他自导自演的这部作品也如片名一样，在演出、剧本和节奏上足够丝滑，也期待他日后的成长。
