剧情介绍

The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     借用了一个美国的故事来讲述一种非常普遍的生活选择和方式,每个在路上的人应该都能感受到相似的情感;人们总因为各种原因上路,在快递仓库与自然美景、房子与van之间,不断挣扎又喘息,可能真是上路了,而能更深刻体会到这种感受,有时候,有些情绪无处言说;赵婷还真是挺厉害的,情感把控很到位,平和也可以很有力量。

    越被吹捧厉害的剧情片,反而愈来愈生出一股逆反心理不愿和大家一窝蜂去看去评价,也愈来愈只在乎自己感受。搁了很久,最后老头子聊到在路上原因稍感动容,能感受到导演想营造的调调,但整体看来并非很喜欢

    不知道為什麼想到逆光那兩句歌詞。離開釋懷很短暫又重來。吾心安處是吾家,人生後半程孑然一身的在大山大海中找一個parking place,看似淒涼的context但不給予評價。如此嫻熟的調度與情緒克制的演出,好電影。

    最后就是她说能不能尝试想起婚约上的誓言,说起来好笑,厘米拍照要成册,然后设计师发来,很多happy every day ,happy family这样的英文,我们连夜花了5个小时翻阅泰戈尔,王尔德,莎士比亚,电影经典台词来替换。

    在看的过程中,想起来之前看的美国的一些民生状态,有些人因为各种各样的原因会成为流浪者。其中某些人甚至是曾经的中产阶层。很敬佩女主遇到的那些流浪者,虽然是被生活逼到了角落,但是他们依然选择有腔调地活着。最明显的一点就是,善待自己。《活出生命的意义》的作者弗兰克尔说,“人类最终极的自由是什么呢,就是无论何时何地何种状况,你作为一个人永远都拥有选择的权利。”这种能力就是这些流浪者所拥有,但大部分人所缺少的。女主也具备这样的能力,所以最后她选择继续上路,这里也很切题。
