The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 一如既往的尬甜，受典型斯德哥尔摩晚期加受德班优秀毕业生……捆绑play那段看得人拳头硬了。

神一般的剪辑，将垂死的老人和洞穴的勘探做了蒙太奇处理，巧妙的剪辑点和微妙的细节变化，向你展示视听技巧的魔力，这个导演一出手，果然是大神！
这种故事就是只要不出大的观念问题，叙事又流畅，我真的会夸夸！以来到准太的家乡学习弗朗明哥舞作为线索，讲述西条高人逐渐认知到自己对准太的爱还有学习如何直接地表达，真的很适合傲娇系的他！

我几乎没怎么看过动漫电影，这一部算是因为之前无意中看了抱胁动漫才来看的剧场版。剧情分手那一段着实有点莫名其妙的，但这里相比动漫加入了一些“救赎”的意味，本来只值得我三颗星的，但是因为太喜欢西条高人又又又加了一颗星。电影后半段更精彩些，不论是高人跳舞那里还是最后戒指上亲手雕刻的mi tesoro看得我眼泪居然有点忍不住。高人的人设真的挺特别，感觉傲娇属性里带着真心，关键时刻为爱勇敢🥹谁看了不说一句绝
看著看著也就忘記了再沒有字幕翻譯角色偶爾的對話溝通。手背上的脈膊跳動，以及最後迷霧裏從遠方轉來的吶喊。洞內探見了盡頭，洞外牧羊人生命得到了延續。
爷爷真的好帅啊，五星全都送给浪漫多情的美人爷爷。（话说制作人和学长的cp怎么又没了呜呜，好涩哦他们两个～）

BFI看的第一部电影，开始被画一般摄影惊到了，逐渐厌倦导演对风景画面的控制，巴士送来的勘查小组，随着进入洞穴声音摩擦着，像回到妈妈体内一样睡过去，醒来时老人去世绘图结束。映后谈上女性导演说，我们在十年的拍摄过程中逐渐发现人和风景的界限消失了，正如探索这个洞的时候，分不清上和下，前和后，我们似乎正生活在这样的limbo里。
导演有点儿意思，让我看了个寂寞，虽然全程目不转睛没有睡着，但还是因为缺觉严重脑子懵懵的，希望未来能有机会在更清醒心情也更好的状态下再看一次大银幕

和一百多个小姑娘在电影院里看激情床戏 这是我从未设想过的场景 但高人去找发小学舞之后我竟然睡着了……我竟然对耽美动漫、小说都失去兴趣了吗！？

确实亲密戏份很少，跳舞也基本没展现出来，不过祖父真好看啊
