The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 科恩兄弟第一次分开指导的作品。哥哥的美学造诣没得说，但很难讲这是不是以牺牲了部分叙事达到的效果。原来的剧本足够经典，但这部电影依然很好的阐释了戏剧和电影并非矛盾冲突对立的关系。life but a walking shadow.
仿佛看了一个舞台剧，黑白片也不显得沉闷。喜欢配乐，另外表白弗兰西斯·麦克多蒙德，如果不是三封了，也许阿姨还能再来一个奥提
莎翁的作品还是伟大。麦克白的悲剧或许在于无法听到自己的声音，无法循着自己的使命妥善过一生，听了太多谗言蒙蔽了自己的双眼。
科恩兄将戏剧搬进摄影棚的艺术探索了大概是，但作为电影去看那这过分文本化的对白确实拗口出戏，然而又很符合A24诡异的气质，丹泽尔和科恩嫂的演绎是绝对衬得起莎士比亚的剧本的。
像是在看舞台剧一样。莎翁可以拍，但没什么必要。个人不太喜欢丹泽尔·华盛顿扮演的麦克白，感觉就是把《籓篱》的表演模式照搬了过来。

为什么要重新拍一部？因为科恩嫂啊，以及要借这个故事表达导演自己的重点；三女巫的表演和方式惊艳了。
3.5 几位主演表现与建筑布景剪影加分 预感自己会更喜欢ntlive版
让自己尽量不像一出舞台剧是每一部舞台剧电影的宿命。
比起《绿衣骑士》，以极简美学，比其空洞的符号堆砌更加光秃；以惨白和浓厚的光学，比其更缺乏生命的涌现。
棚里拍摄，摄影还是强的，转场丝滑。
一眼看去立即会想到劳伦斯奥利弗的几部莎剧改编电影，同时外景是塔可夫斯基式的，城堡是德莱叶式的，建筑内光影有点费里尼味…唯独没看出来哪里像科恩。莎剧原词卡在“日常腔调”和“舞台腔调”之间魅力略微流失，演员话剧式表演被放在特写镜头里所有小动作和控制不到位的表情都被无限放大，科恩正反打则完全失去了曾经的魅力。这版改编看似风格化（然而kitsh）但并未给出什么值得深探的视角，我唯一能试着尝出的新味道大概是“用衰老来解释对权势的痴念贪执”。总之较为失望吧
甜蜜的黑白光影，极简的舞台剧布景，单朝着视觉风格化而来不会失望。
可怕的并不是女巫的预言，而是深不可测的人心。整部电影舞台感很强，让我一个想打完工随便看看的人有点意外...
总的来说，该片舞台剧不像舞台剧，电影不像电影。

话剧的表现形式，一定需要演员具备良好的体力，感觉说台词都特别累。
科恩的莎翁梦，每一幕都比冰血暴还冷，几百上千年，科技一直在发展，人类的欲望却始终原地踏步，我们都是麦克白，没有魔法保护的麦克白。
