The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 柯林斯是真好看，普莱蒙是真难看，希哥是真无聊。这么点剧情抻了90分钟还很多没讲，服了…
电影整体呈现一种复古风。台词不多，很多留白靠配乐和微表情烘托了人物的内心变化。来郊区度假的有钱人夫妇，偶遇私闯宅邸的小偷？人物不多，故事却相当完整。不过这种文艺惊悚风格不是我的菜。如果不是冲着几位主演精湛的演绎，这部电影可以说是非常普通了

幻想确实是一种很浪漫的能力，和静物对话真的是挺令人向往的，但是并不妨碍这是一部失败的喜剧，从头到尾看下来没几个好笑的地方……
试想一下，假如真的和电影中一样，所有景物其实都在时刻关注着你的一点一滴，那坏人如何心安，不真的得了精神病才怪。
又是几个人的电影，叙事能力还是有的，故事一直平铺直叙了，没有反转太平淡了
剧情有点可爱，但结局实在仓促，林更新是真的狗，喜剧的核心果然是悲剧。
女主哈哈哈，哈哈哈，哈哈哈在尬笑中……就大结局了，她笑点低的会让人误以为会患有精神病的趋势，男主都比她正常，大黄狗都比她有演技，就叫她王多余吧，叫草莓都抬高她
不愧是中秋档唯一的喜剧片，画风真是奇趣。王彦霖饰演的阿震在多管闲事后被雷劈中，意外获得能与静物对话的超能力，剧情荒诞但全是笑点。
狗的真人化还挺有意思的，其他的真的就是网大质量

菲尔考林斯女儿太漂亮啦。片子结尾有点仓促。整体可看性还是不错的。

其实是一部还行的喜剧，笑点是有的，但是剧情太过简单，什么起合转折都没有……彩蛋倒是挺有意思
创意不错，可惜主线剧情太过薄弱，感觉就像小品彩蛋的精彩集合
不过对物品物尽其用和爱惜物品，和最后感觉有一点点相似。
里面居然还有张雪峰老师，看来暑假考研已经满足不了他了，来电影里面当精神病专家了哈哈哈
