The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 好看。点子好棒。而且流泪就是这个样子流泪，其他样子都是假的。
分别的痛苦仅留于己，但求家人余生皆幸福。这，大抵就是爱吧。

气质类型非常像 机械姬 ，是软科幻类型，感觉Apple最近出品的电影色调最近都趋于这个风格。不得不说，阿里的演技在这里彻底爆发，一颦一笑皆是戏，而且是那种稳稳的类型，看的人非常舒服。唯一的小缺憾是，可以做的更暗黑系。
如果不是copy paste是cut paste就好了
无论精神还是肉体，守护住“爱”都是一个艰难的课题。

通过传输记忆，重新回忆一路走来的种种，猛然惊醒仿佛瞬移一般。看着自己代替自己与家人交流，越是熟练越是心疼，只有小狗发现了掌中痣的秘密。最后一次取下孩子的姓名，如爱人般交接象征身份的戒指，重新肩负使命完成最后的陪伴。
虽然科幻得很玄幻，但是平实的叙述，精湛的演技，冲淡了基本上不可能的科技成就，很感人。
這種經歷可能會使個體更接近完整……

科技是能导致毁灭性的后果，但是也能带来更美好的未来。一体两面，就看人怎么用了。这是制度创新，很大胆，但是可以实现了！手法和布景看似简洁，其实就是让你思考，减少变量，只加入最重要的几个变量，然后设计。
我觉得这个设想其实很沉重，大概就是善意的谎言和残忍的真相的博弈，主人公最后选择了善意的谎言，因为对妻子和孩子的爱。但我想我应该会选择残酷的真相，因为我觉得谎言永远都是谎言，人总是需要面对的，everything。
