The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 人生本绵长，点点欢喜多是伤。
巴尔扎克的小说改编，画外音保持小说风格，故事疯狂，而且喜剧色彩出乎我的意料，一个对于出版社的反讽，而且保持资本本身“粗俗和活力”，显然作者站在资本一边，对于贵族是非常反感的，主角失败了，就是这样。
全片几乎完全都是以提琴协奏曲或者交响曲为主的配乐，没有任何“现代感”，虽然这会在某种程度上拉高片子的观影门槛，但无疑，这是很优秀的表现方式。

标准的年代剧罢了。旁白是偷懒，男主空有皮囊。可以看看隔壁的Fabian。
泛滥的旁白损害了整部片子的气质，导演明显缺乏用影像叙事的能力。巴尔扎克的原著应该更厉害，把整个泡沫社会以及其中异化的人尽数尸解。
贵族文化盛行的时代，乡下的穷小子即使有着出色的才华，被巴黎的大染缸污染后还幻想能够左右逢缘恢复母亲的姓名登上贵族的平台，结果被人出卖失去了一切，最后回到了开始的地方。电影把巴黎社会各色各样的人进行了描绘，历史感很浓厚，虽然时间长了点，但静下心来还是能沉浸其中。
Un film emportant, empalent, éblouissant de la mise en scène tout en ayant une voix musicale, remarquable. L’adaptation est à la fois moderne et historique. Une densité narrative est également incroyable. Bref, un film ambitieux, luxueux, poignant.

在世俗，金钱，谎言，所谓的名声中迷失自己……困在自以为自己很厉害的牢笼中，最终被现实打败，想象幻灭。
我几乎没看过什么小说，名著改编的电影倒是很感兴趣。出自电影《玛格丽特》（Marguerite，2015）导演之手的这部同名电影，表现出多少原著的深度我不知道，但呈现巴尔扎克“法国 19 世纪伟大的批判现实主义作家”这头衔，肯定是满分的。通过这个落入红尘的文学天才的故事，我们可以一睹欧洲贵族光鲜背后的那个世界。
小民喜好的就是谣言，造谣的媒体自然成为社会焦点。连捧带杀，多家媒体火力并开，谁又会想到这仅仅是为了制造热点，收割韮菜。男主有幸经历这一切，即便幻灭，平生亦足矣。

没头没尾。自始至终也没说明白小比利到底干了什么让人闻风丧胆。。。
除了原著的光芒加持以外，可以说是毫无亮点，包括电影的外在创作和内在表达，议点、议 题相当陈旧，但所展现的导向、环境，也多少有一点现实意义，可这是巴尔扎克的功劳。
