The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 知识改变命运,主人公用自己的付出,换来孩子们的出息,换来整个藏区生活条件的改变,这也是整个中国这么多年发展的缩影。
没有特别华丽的场景,也没有特别出名的演员,我们在这部电影里面看到的完全是质朴的老师和学生们,真的很感动
在这部电影里面,只看到了质朴的人们和无疆的大爱,韩老师的结局虽然看起来很难过,但是对于他来说,他的一生应该很幸福吧!
总之,好好的故事,强行用人命牺牲拔高立意,不行。
说实话,感觉有的剧情全能猜到,如果再顺一点就更好了,应该弄点儿意想不到的经历
虽说我从故事的开始就看到了结局,但这部电影我愿意看下去,并且一直期待他的内容,果然没让我失望
虽说剧情中有一些看起来比较生硬的地方,但是这并不妨碍电影本身不错这一个事实

如果没有遇到韩松老师,僧格将来可能呆在草原上放牧,但是在韩松老师的教导下,僧格当上了消防员。这就是教师的意义吧

这部电影让我充满了一种特殊的感情,也许是牺牲小我奉献大我,也许是其他的什么,但总之,我很感动
孩子们这么渴望知识喜欢老师,是我从小到大都不敢这么相信的。景色是真美
老师太难了,一方面是需要帮助的孩子们,一方面又是母亲病危,真的很佩服他。

感觉现在的社会,很少有像韩老师这样无私奉献的人了。虽然我不太支持他没有在母亲生命的最后关头陪伴很久这样的做法
