The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 看似平淡但却无比真挚的叔侄感情，黑白色调选的太好了，纪录片导演受到姐姐的委托照顾自己的儿子，叔侄在相处中不断破冰，叔叔告诉了侄子他和孩子姐姐关系看似不好的原因，以及孩子父亲的挣扎，最令人动容的时刻莫过于小孩要被送回家向叔叔道歉，和母亲来接他的不舍。影片还引入了许多问题，而儿童的回答却很有深度，令人深思儿童的视角，太喜欢小男主了。

很多时候我也缺少了这种宁静
Wilmette Theater。像Joaquin Phoenix会接的戏（他似乎一直对next generation的生活状态抱有一种悲观主义）一些纪录片技法+声效的运用挺有趣 大小两主演演技极好。黑白美则美也 意义似乎不大 浮于表面形式。不论从剧作 呈现形式 还是主题意义上都略显肤浅。片子像一个休闲下午随意喝了杯淡淡的气泡酒 喝完易忘 甚至不打嗝儿。

看了十分钟，觉得应该是一部非常用心有质量的片子，可惜我现在没有心思看这样的片子，于是关上屏幕就来打个分吧，希望未来的缘分可以让我在更好的时候能和这部片子重聚。
很舒服的呈现，二号男神仿佛又回到了《她》。略带伤感，平静的，舒缓的，向前。
喜欢凤凰叔，喜欢黑白片，喜欢文艺调调，推荐。个人觉得最有价值的是影片记录的和儿童的对谈。儿童严肃且深刻的表达关于父母、朋友、人生、世界的看法。活着的初心，孩子知晓，成人忘却。仔细聆听成人与儿童的问答，教育工作者可以看到直击人心的互动与儿童的哲学思辨，父母可以看到不同的亲子相处方式。诗意，琐碎的影像记录了爱和接纳的过程，成人与儿童的双向奔赴，感人且值得深思。
“Let me ask you a question. Why does everything have to be like this kind of weird, eccentric thing that you do” “cause I like it” “but why not just do something normal” “what’s normal” “ok, fine, good point.” 这段对白简直就是A24风格的最好诠释，又怪又吸引人。

典型的essay film，但是嵌套了一个melodrama就让视角显得非常模糊。Jesse也并不完全能与影片中其他被采访的小孩等同起来，所以最后让人感觉一头雾水。
