When Lauren disappears from a night club and doesn’t return home the next morning, her mother, Michelle, to avoid publicity and a scandal, decides to search for her missing daughter. 两个字：自然。影片的主要元素很美国，房车、公路、营地、流浪等等。但和那些为了反叛或逃避的文青式“在路上”不同，主角的流浪很自然，这就是她的生活本身，尽管她有她的落魄和孤独，但并不可怜。正如她和小女孩说的，她是houseless，而不是homeless
他们是一直在路上的，在这一路上，身边的挚友逐渐去世、离开定居，最后慢慢只剩下一人，带着回忆与孤独。
被悲伤孤独抽离后的私人救赎之旅。沿路的同类，兀自的山峦，远方的冷空气。回忆也许美，可是正在飞走对不对。
拒绝港湾，回到最初梦碎的地方，然后再转身继续走下去。真正的公路片。
真诚与真诚之间，有一段温存的怀疑。赵婷喜欢将镜头裹着倾斜与呼吸感，怼到她关注的事物上去。她的特写透露着一种关切。

像一首留白的影像诗，一半是亚利桑那的落日余晖，一半是科罗拉多的云层与积雪。在一个特别的年份里，连拿金狮和小金人，赵婷获得了超过这部电影本身的荣耀、也承担了超过这部电影本身的批判。过了四个月，故事仿佛都忘了。see you down the road. 102020/202104
画面好美，羡慕这些行走在路上人们对人生看得很通透的想法。如果这部电影得奥斯卡，应该是最有诗意的一部吧……
骨子里向往自由的人，并经历了所谓“稳定”的幻灭，彻底而决绝地再次投身自由。孤独只是个必要的装饰品，所有的感情也都自然无法长久，只有“在路上”是永恒的。所以，“路上见”。
都不会像你想象的那样好
世界上有千百种生活方式
只要人能呼吸眼不盲
虽然游牧民的生活窘迫困顿，但摄影和配乐却生生令这种生活颇有骑士的浪漫。还记得《海边的曼彻斯特》里那个无法和过去和解的Lee，勇敢而诚实的Fern，她也许走不出了，所以选择了上路。
赵婷身兼数职的确保证了个人表达的一致性，但也因此而失去了更好的可能，至少在剪辑方面是有一些可以改善的地方的。
